CB750 Chapman Drag Bike
You often hear the words rare, vintage, unique and one of a kind. This motorcycle is truly all of those and more. This bike was built, owned and raced by some very important icons of motorcycle drag racing. All information is true as it was told to me over the years. If you know this bike or any other facts about its famous history please let me know and I will pass it on.

Frame was built by Chapman Race cars- Chicago
SPECS:
Aluminum lightweight AKRONT rims.
MRE air shifter solenoid and trigger.
Aluminum oil tank
Hurst/Airheart rear brake caliper.
Grimeca master
ARD Magneto
Metzeler 170/60-18 rear slick.
Adjustable wheelie bars
Total bike length is 10ft 8in
Custom built Honda cb750E- 2527450, stroked to 836cc, KEIHIN carbs, Russ Cullens of “RC Engineering” custom built top end and cam, Lower end built by Eraldo Ferracci of “Fast By Ferracci” with custom aluminum rods.
This is the only Chapman bike I have ever seen or herd of made by Chapman Race Cars- Chicago.

RC As In Russ Collins
Last week I posted links to a shitload of Ebay auctions for RC drag racing parts [http://clingonforlife.blogspot.com/2011/07/cr750-drag-bike-parts-on-ebay.html]. After having posted this some of you have send e-mails asking “What is the big deal??? Why is this special?”. And I am going to tell you….
First thinks first… RC stands for Russ Collins, and he was the founder of RC Engineering [http://www.rceng.com/]. RC Engineering started out as a header manufacturer for Honda motorcycles in 1969, and Russ Collins himself also raced Honda CB750s at the drag strip. Up until the formation of RC Engineering Russ Collins had been an authority on high performance motorcycle engines, and after Collins started RC, he began breaking records that were previously held by Harly-Davidson and Triumph. Collins was not the only one breaking records though. His customers were also breaking records using his parts. Russ' motto holds true to this day. "We prove our products in the face of our competitors."
Russ Collins started his motorcycle drag racing career in the 1950′s. In 1973 Collins built the revolutionary, triple Honda CB750 engine powered drag bike named The Atchison. The huge triple engine Honda Top Fuel bike was featured in numerous motorcycle and drag racing magazines, back in the 70′s and was probably one of the most famous drag bike of the decade. Russ Collins' three-motor monster ran a best of 7.80 sec./179.5 mph but, proved a death-defying ride.
In 1976, The Atchison was destroyed in a horrendous crash at Akron , Ohio
After many years of motorcycle racing domination, RC Engineering turned it's interests towards automobile racing. Particularly Hondas with similar Japanese four cylinder engines as the motorcycles they were so used to building.

RC Drag Bike From Texas
This CB750 based drag bike raced in 1977-1979 in South Texas. This motorcycle had a 6X15 car slick on the back, 1080cc SOHC Honda engine, RC Engineering valve train and cam and did the 1/4 mile in 10 seconds @130 mph.
Take a minute and thing about it... Nowadays, stock motorcycles are quicker than that???

Russ Collins was not the only one building multible engine drag bikes in the 70s. This dual CB750 engined drag bike is one of them, and the engine actually use RC parts

CR750 Replica On Ebay
This day just gets better and better. Ebay is full of good Honda racing sales at the moment… Somebody most really fell the recession in the US
This Honda CR 750 was built in 2010, and the engine has racing camshaft, ported and gas flowed head, Boyer ignition, lightened crank, double disc brakes, alloy rims front and rear, shortened frame, Swarbrick megaphone exhaust, and alloy oil tank.
And the race fairing is painted in Honda factory racing colours – NICE !!!

CR750 Drag Bike Parts – On Ebay

And this somebody is Mr. Redlined24, and he has some rare and collectable CR drag bike parts for sale… If I had 1000$ to spare, I would by the lot!!!

RC Performance Head
This performance head is from an RC Cobra engine, and includes alloy spring retainers, heavy duty valve springs and aftermarket valves. The combustion chamber has been enlarged to accommodate the increased size of the 1060 cylinders/pistons.
1060cc RC Drag Bike Cylinder
This is the real deal, this is the famous RC1060 cylinders pulled out of storage after 30 years! Bored for 73mm pistons a stock bike runs anywhere from 35-50Hp with the 1060 kit you will be pushing 100Hp. If you want a piece of racing history; this is it!

73mm Aaris Pistons
73mm Aaris Pistons
This set of 73mm Aaris pistons is also originally from the RC 1060 Cobra engine, and are in good shape. The exhaust valve kissed two of the pistons, and left slight indents. But no cracks or holes in the pistons.
RC Golden Rods
I personally have only seen on set of original RC gold rods on Ebay before, and they are truly rare to find. These rods are only for the biggest of the bigbore engines, and for high-stress applications. Not street machines!!!
RC Performance Camshaft
Action fours ss2a cam, do I have to say more? Ok here is more… This piece of stick runs at an optimal rpm rate of no less than 6.500 rpm [Bare in mind that this is a machine from the 60’s!!!], and race valves and spring sets are recommended – NO SHIT!?!
