The Russ Collins Triple
Russ Collins was in my opinion the leading motorcycle drag racer of the 1960s & 70s. When Honda introduced the CB750 Collins quickly started to race it on the drag strips with his dual and triple-engine modifications. In 1970 Collins quit his job and opened RC Engineering.
In 1973 Collins rode the Honda CB750 Triple in to the first seven-second quarter-mile on a motorcycle in Ontario, California. Three years later the same drag bike was destroyed at a drag race in Akron, Ohio, and landed Collins in hospital.
